My favorite band! I've been pretty down lately, a lot of really bad shit has gone down. I've been feeling this song, I like to call it my "angry song." It makes me feel better, kinda.

OVERFLOATER
Come on in and take me on an override
Been stuck inside and up all night at Dave's
Now trouble's far away, and mother in her cage
And nothings gonna pinch this nerve of mine

I wanna make it right

Close the door and pull the shades
And climb the walls
Feel medicine heal the lines of age
I'm here and now I'm gone
I'm there and far beyond
And nothing's gonna pinch this nerve of mine
Nothing's gonna pinch this nerve of mine

I wanna make it right

I'm on the wire over and higher
Over the pretense over the (spire) why
On and connected I'm overfloating now
I'm overfloating alone

Hold the potion up
Remember to forget and then rename your shame

I wanna make it right

I'm on the wire over and higher
Over the pretense over the (spire) why
On and connected I'm overfloating now
I'm overfloating alone
Don't let the world bring you down, not everyone here is that fucked up and cold. Remember why you came and while you're alive, experience the warmth before you grow old.

Best two days of my life: Oasis at MSG and Pearl Jam at the Gorge.

hell yeah that tune is an absolute belter

just like to say I had a stinker of a day today, plenty of things that piss you off; i.e. $80 Parking Fine before 8am and it got worse.
Well guess i gotta suck it up and get on with it. Listening to 'Immortality' for me just turns me around and takes me on a trip.
I had it all once I gave it back

Soundgarden is awesome. Probably my favorite band that was around in the 90s next to Pearl jam, U2, and the Peppers.
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

  • Fuck the police! I'm sorry about your ticket! That's a bunch of bull shit!

I love Soundgarden, they're my most favorite band in the whole world. I'm getting the symbol tattooed on my arm soon. It's the one on Screaming Life.

  • I have that tattoo on my calf, the cool looking s into the g symbol. And SG is my favorite band there ever was, we should get married and spend the rest of our lives together!......................................Only kidding, if you want to see what it looks like on skin let me know. I could post a picture.
  • dude, that would be way sweet! I want to see it!
In general though, I love Chris Cornell. I was just listening to Yesterday or Tomorrow by Audioslave, his voice is AMAZING!
My friend recently got Motorvision and we were watching it together... if I could only go back in time, I would be there at every single Soundgarden show. Tighter & Tigher and Zero Chance are my favorite songs. I love Get on the Snake too, it's my number three.

  • TEARS TO FORGET
    These tears to remember
    These tears to forget
When I try to cry one
    These tears do forget you

    I suckle life
    Its love and its beauty
    Well I scream from life
    Its honor and its beauty

    These tears to remember
    These tears to forget

  • if i woonna kkep the sh...out with soundgarden i listen to bad motor fingers...
  • Soundgarden is amazing, defiently one of my all time favorite bands.
Chris Cornell himself is amazing, be it Soundgarden or Audioslave. They just know how to rock.
  • Soundgarden is my 3rd fav. band, right below Alice in Chains, who is of course only behind Pearl Jam. But anyways, here's what I think is Soundgarden at their best:

    15. Like Suicide

    Heard it from another room
Eyes were waking up just to fall asleep
    Love's like suicide
Dazed out in a garden bed
With a broken neck lays my broken gift
    Just like suicide

    And my last ditch
    Was my last brick
    Lent to finish her
    Finish her

Bit down on the bullet now
I had a taste so sour
I had to think of something sweet
    Love's like suicide
    Safe outside my gilded cage
    With an ounce of pain
I wield a ton of rage
    Just like suicide

    With eyes of blood
    And bitter blue
    How I feel for you
    I feel for you

    She lived like a murder
    How she'd fly so sweetly
    She lived like a murder
    But she died
    Just like suicide

I miss Soundgarden. Truly a great band. Always looked forward to their albums. :(
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
  • Run away
    Now its Halloween
Shave your head and burn your sheets
Evil could be right next door
    What do blind dogs believe?
    I dont want to know

    [Chorus]
    Blind
    Following blind

    Run away
    Now its Halloween
The safe bet is on your knees
Bow your head to the Trinity
    Thats what blind dogs believe
    But ive heard that before

    [Chorus]
    Blind
    Following blind

    Dead on my feet
    While my nightmare walks
    I fell asleep
    Where the freeway talks
Suffer to swim and dying to sink
    These things in the air
    They will make you think
    Make you think
    Make you think

I love this song, such an eery feel to it! Check out the live version from self pollution radio, the only live version ever, it is quite awesome. PJ should release the whole show on DVD. Some awesome performances of immortality, lifeless dead among others. Happy holidays to all!
  • I haven't heard that song in ages, it's really good.

This song has been stuck in my head for a few days:

    FRESH TENDRILS
    Long time coming
It seemed to take me through
    Long time coming
    Many served the few
And long to taste the shame
    That bows down before you

    Long time coming
It seemed to get me by
    Long time coming
    It seemed to satisfy
You longed to taste the shame
    That everybody tries

    Shame shame throw yourself away
Give me little bits of more than I can take
If it sits upon your tongue or naked in your eyes
Give me little bits of more than I can try

    Long time coming
It seemed to take me through
    Long time coming
    Many served the few
And long to taste the shame
    That bows down before you

    Shame shame throw yourself away
Give me little bits of more than I can take
If it sits upon your tongue or naked in your eyes
Give me little bits of more than I can try

  • i looooove Overfloater. its one of my fav Soungarden songs. I love how the chorus hits hard, "I'm on the wire!!!"

    cool thread!
  • its strange how some songs of theirs make me want to cry sometimes.. maybe it's Chris's delivery too...

Fell on Black Days does it constantly...

the climax of The Day I Tried To Live... "you know I... SHOULD'VE STAYED IN BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED"

    and others...

Zero Chance does it every single time i hear it.. i think that's the prettiest song Chris ever wrote (for Soundgarden) easily.

    i love them.
Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..
