Damn, they sound good live. I must try to catch a show when they tour my area!
Is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?

I loved them both times they opened in Chicago. I bought all their albums, Love them now.

All the MMJ haters are missing out, fuck em

I had no clue who they were before Chicago, and I am soooo glad they were introduced to me, as I really love them now.

saw them last night in Asheville at the Orange Peel and honestly it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen, seeing them in a club with their crowd is completely different than seeing them open for PJ, they were AMAZING!

what the hell are you talking about? thats a very self righteous thing to say. you may think you are too good to listen to okonokos but okonokos is just too good for you. anyway the cd is amazing. i never really gave the song steam engine much of a chance, i just passed it off as being kinda boring, but i watched it on the dvd the other night and wow, that might be the highlight of the show....now one of my favorite songs at the moment.
and can i ask what exactly is a studio produced live album?

damn, what a show... I walked out of there thinking how can they be that good? it's just pure insanity

did you happen to see that dog on the van before the show?
    looking for 2 to Columbia...

lol oknokos is "too good" for me, haha. have you seen mmj live? if you think this cd does them justice, you are sorely mistaken. head on over to archive.org and download some mmj flac recordings and then tell me whats good and whats not.

a studio produced live album is any "live" album that is not a bootleg. every single song is mixed in studio. they even re-record parts in studio that don't sound perfect on the recording. why do you think you don't hear crowd noise or the crowd singing along on those albums? pj's live on two legs is a great example of this. christ, they even have 2 different mccready solos spliced into one.

  • there aren't any overdubs on this album.
  • This is a great album. While I loved seeing them open for PJ a number of times, the opening slot really didn't do them justice. I saw MMJ headline two shows within the last 3.5 months and let me tell you, they f-ing rock. You need to seem them do their own show........

    Unreal.

I listened to it a few times on a long car ride this weekend. Awesome...a must have for any MMJ fan.
  • Very good CD's and a very good band. I was very fortunate to hear them open for Pearl Jam 5 times last spring, and each time they got better. I would love to catch them do a show on their own. Very impressed by this band.

yeah this proves my point......yeah you are definatly a self righteous asshole. and yes i have seen my morning jacket three times live....anyway who gives a shit if they touched it up in the studio, the music is still great. i'm sure you could get some great bootlegs from mmj but who gives a shit if the sound quality on this one is great, when did that ever ruin some music.
