Man, I tried really hard with the new DBT. IMO..I think they miss Isbell (whose record is excellent).

MGMT is the only thing I am listening to so far this year, heard the first Raconteurs single from this record and like that so I will assume that Id like the rest of that record but I didnt want to spend 14 on it this week.

yup, some good stuff this year so far. I'm personally looking forward to May.

The brand new one from Pineapple Thief comes out, and a new band from France called 'Demiens' releases their debut album. The Demiens one in particular has me psyched.

My favorite so far is Kathleen Edwards' Asking for Flowers. Also really liking the new Drive-by Truckers.

I've avoided the leak of the new R.E.M., so I'm looking forward to hearing that one when my copy arrives.

I'd also like to recommend people check out a band called Fleet Foxes. On April 8th they release their debut EP called Sun Giant (or I think it's the debut anyway). I'm listening to the leak of the EP right now and LOVING every song! I can see this becoming one of my favorites for the year. I love a good EP - 18 minutes of beauty, no filler. I checked out bestbuy.com and they have the CD on pre-sale for $2.99. I'll wait and try to buy a copy in a store, but you can't beat that price!

Their first full length comes out this summer as well, so that's something to look forward to as well (I'll TRY to avoid that leak).

i know it was released last year and the hard copy was available very late december(which is when i bought it) but im gonna say radiohead's in rainbows. from the minute i heard those songs its been in my head. for the past 3 months its been, along with into the wild, my go to music when i needed calming. so ive heard it a lot. and as ive said elsewhere if i buy no other album this year, 2008 will be a stellar eeyar for me because of radiohead. :)
