What kind of music is Audioslave?

This is what the security guy asked me after going through my pack during secondary screening at lax Friday night. And secondary screening for like the sixth time in the last six flights I might add…glad I don’t fly with reefer anymore…

Anyways as I grabbed my pack and headed for the gate I said…Just rock man, rock at its most evolved state…

Just curious how some of you would answer this question, so how would you?

    Good question......

    I would say it's just plain ol' ROCK :)

    A friend of mine was telling me about a concert in March or something like that with a few bands he knows, and he was like "yeah, it'd be cool if you can come, but I must warn you, they're NO Audioslave" LOL :D I wonder what he meant by that? :p Probably that the bands we're gonna see are WAY heavier than AS, he listens to hardcore, thrash metal (sp?) ....so yeah :)

    I would say rock that is allright but still leaves you saddened that rage against the machine does not exist anymore.

    knowing me id probably go into far too much detail, giving him a quick description of where the band members came from and what the music really sounds like

    "Well theyre kinda like an alternative, post grunge-y band I suppose. 3/4 of them came from Rage....."

    They're no Audioslave...funny. Reminds me of that line from Something About Mary. He's no Steve Young...

    Yeah this is where I was coming from, I had already spent enough time with the security guy...

    audioslave sucks because I can't stand chris cornells voice. Its really annoying

    i wanna know how some people can think he's one of the greatest singers of all time. i can see "soundgarden rocks" or "man, cornell is badass" but to claim he's got one of the greates vocal talents in rock... or anywhre near it... blows my mind.

    his voice is high and screechy. dyou have the singles soundtrack? "birth RITUUAAAAAALLLLL!!!!" or then there's "spoonman"... same story. he 'warbles' if that's a sensical word. just annoys me. kinda like the guy from rush sometimes. but like the guy from rush, there are times the voice and the music work together and i do like a handful of songs from both. i just think overall, the voice is crap.

    Aw come now, Rush is awesome. Although, as I kid, when I first heard Rush I did think it was woman singing.

    And I'm a massive fan of Soundgarden, Rush, and don't forget Queensryche!
