Brett Scallions replaces Ian Astbury

Former Fuel frontman Brett Scallions has signed on to replace the Cult's Ian Astbury as the new lead singer of the Doors spin-off group Riders on the Storm. "Having an opportunity to share the stage with these great musicians is more exciting than anything I've ever done," maintains Scallions, who exited Fuel early last year. Riders/founding Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek says of Scallions, "We are glad to have him, he has a great voice and a lot of charisma."

Wow, I can't imagine him singing Doors songs.

I thought the reason he quit Fuel was because his voice couldn't handle the strain of singing anymore. Can anyone clarify this?

i thought he quit fuel because he was in the band fuel and the year was the year 2004

on brett scallions' myspace, he posted on his blog in feb 2006 when it was official that he quit fuel
check out that blog b/c he mentions that it is not true that he can't sing

I am a big fan of him and I cannot wait to see him. I love the doors too.
