Looks like Mike is dusting off the solo band for a tour. I'd love to catch one of these shows, his solo discs are amazing, lots of outlaw country covers.

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Very nice..thanks for the 411.. I would have to say Mike Ness is just as much a living legend as Eddie Vedder...I have not seen him solo since 1999 in San Diego.. great show...

Thanks for posting, merkinball. Just got my tic for The Troc. After my late March/early April jaunt to Seattle and Vancouver , FTM on May 3 and now Mike Ness on May 12 will help feed my music addiction until I hit the Long Road in June.

No problem. I missed that '99 SD show for some stupid reason, regretted it ever since. The Hootenanny sounds like a good time, may be worth checking out. I'm sure he'll play some socal shows with the band too.

  • Bump for Mike McCready's favorite Mike.
    :D

Ness' solo stuff is a little thick on the country for me,
but i'll support anything these guys do.
Ness & SD are just great.

Can't decide if i should catch him more local at ATL, or take the trip down to NOLA and see him at HOB with my buddy.

Maybe drive to ATL, then fly to NOLA? lol.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

I can't believe he's still playing Bakersfield. The last time I saw him after he been there last, he commented that "That's where good times go to die."
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

I'm going to the 5/16 show, should be a kick ass time.

Have you heard the Social D song "Bakersfield", its awesome. They played it live a few times on their last tour.

Mike's always got great one liners. Unfortunately, he's right on with that remark. Bakersfield is a gas stop between LA and Vegas in most peoples books.

I can see him getting a charge out of playing at Buck Owens place though.

Whoops. I was thinking of Barstow, not Bakersfield...

Barstow is more like a last resort bathroom stop :D

But anyways... I saw Social D a couple months ago at HOB in Anaheim. It's small so it was really cool seeing them up close... even though I was crammed between a bunch of other people. Great show! Mike Ness is really good live.
    Stone Gossard...riffmeister extraordinaire!

I am a man, I am advanced.....I am the first man to borrow Stone's leather pants!
