My buddy's folk/groove rock band is playing a show Saturday night up in Salem, NH if anyone is interested. Info can be found on their website (which I created and maintain):

The 3 song demo on their site doesn't do them any justice. Of course I may be biased because one of the guys is my best friend, but they are pretty fun live. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but you can tell they love doing it.
Oh, and I'll be recording this show for them, so no running up to me and yelling
There's a slim chance me and my friend will be opening up with a few songs of our own. We need to practice a few more times, and I don't think we have enough open nights to get a decent set together by then, but who knows. If not this show, we'll definitely open for them the next time they come to Sayde's or anywhere else.

I recorded their last show, but unfortunately one of the mic cables was messed up and thus half of the first set went to mono in and out. Sets 2 and 3 came out ok (with minor issues) as far as an audience recording goes. The only problem is that I don't have permission from them to post any samples unfortunately. I have an mp3 of one of the songs on my computer here, but I wouldn't feel right publishing it without their consent. Aside from a slightly botched ending, it's a decent example of how they sound live.

I use Safari as a browser so perhaps it may be related to that? who knows, perhaps I had a hiccup on my broadband. just wanted to point it out.
have fun opening up. sounds great.
The server is messed up and has been down all morning. I don't even know how you got on the site to begin with!

All things considered I was psyched with how it turned out. My buddy had played open mics before, but I had only ever played at parties and with friends. We had our fair share of screwed up transitions, and a few real sour notes, but for a 45 minute first ever set, I was thoroughly happy with how it turned out. I knew we wouldn't be perfect. There was 0% chance of that happening. We've only jammed together since like mid December, and some of the songs we played we've only tried maybe 3-4 times in practice. But we gritted through it and aside from the sour notes and transition biffs, we did pretty good.

(Yeah I know, the f'd up note to kick into No Rain *kills* me but it was the first song we played and I was not into the flow quite yet. We're gonna save that for later in the set the next time we play...when it works it is really cool how the songs flow into each other)

I'm on electric for all of these, and he is on acoustic and singing.

I dig how they flow together. I just sort of listen for when he throws in the D chord and I slowly start teasing No Rain.
