  • I saw him live, a couple of years ago. He was as spectacularly ugly and fast fingered as ever. One thing that's often overlooked about Alvin is his tone. (I mean, his guitar tone.) He's much more than just a shredder.

i saw 10 yrs after circa 1973 with procol harum. his playing was once described as "fast and sloppy".. i dug his band.

    he wasn't very pleasant

he had a nasty disposition between songs and he was mean to kansas city..

    boo hoo.

btw, i did not care about the derision, i just went to see him play.

my fav 10 yrs after song was

    50,000 miles beneath my brain
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
