I have only listened to it once however it is pretty darn good. Dare I say more accessible? perhaps that is just due to their song length (all under 6:00) but whatever, it is a good listen.

Now all they have to do is grab Pelican and Isis and hit the road.

I really like it, but I preferred the huge tracks like "Chrismassteps" and "Mogwai Fear Satan." It is great nonetheless

would totally agree. i've listened to it 2-3 times and i really like it, but there are no young team or cody style hard stompers (if you will).

Got my copy on Friday (pre-ordered from Amazon, but chose the free shipping option). So far I'm liking the record. Did any of you pick up the version w/ the DVD? It has a 40 min. documentary about the making of the album, worth the extra buck I paid, definitely.
Statistically speaking, you're more likely to be pitied by Mr. T than you are to have feet.

A dvd you say, that's cool.

Does anyone know when they'll start a tour. I'm kind of hoping they will do a festval I'll go to. Rock Werchter would be so good.

Mr. Beast is a great album, although I've only listened to it twice. Dew to an even better album witch I got the same day.

Haven't picked it up yet, but sounds like a good album. But I'm still enjoying last year's Pelican effort. Man, that stuff is insanely beautiful. ;)

    standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same

A very good record. I can hear them maturing and refining their sound. That's my favorite part of listening to bands that I like...getting to hear the evolution :)

I saw them live last year (opening for Opeth) and was floored. Met a few of them after the show. Picked up their discs and hell yes, insanely beautiful. A perfect Mogwai companion.

no I haven't heard anything about it. though when you think about it, they would be a perfect band to pull it off.

Yeah deffently. I left something out though, the film supposedly will be about Zidane.
Wouldn't that be cool zizou dancing to the melody of Mogwai.
