Does anyone have any experience with these cymbals? I'm currently using Zildjian ZBT 14" hi hats and I'm wondering if the Scimitar cymbals would be an improvement. Thanks.

I don't know how they sound, since I don't own them yet. That's why I posted this thread. Thanks.

BTW, they just played "Santa God" on WMMR!

EDIT: Now they're playing "Jingle Bells".

You are right on the nose -- in fact, the Scimitar line was replaced by the ZBTs the threadstarter is using now. I'd honestly say don't bother unless they're free, or very very close to it.

Are they made any better than the ZBT's, though? I know the Amir's were better (the Scimitar's replaced the Amir's), but I'm not sure about the Scimitar's.

well, my neighbor had scmitar hats and we beat the crap out of them one night and they didn't crack, if that's a help.

honestly, it's a lateral movement and a waste of money. Here's is what I did.
Played some B8's for awhile until I found some that I really liked. I went to music stores and played every pair of hi-hats they had without looking at the price. I then narrowed down my top 5 or so and then looked at the prices. then went online and found the best deal I could on Sabian AAX-celerators. Now I own a set of hats that I truly like playing and listening to.

I actually bought a Zildjian Amir II top hi hat, because my ZBT top hi hat is cracked. It looks horrible, but I guess with some cleaning it will look a bit better. Thanks.

I didn't get it yet, but when I do, I'll make a recording of them both.

That's what I was expecting. Thanks.

BTW, I'm probably going to get a job soon, so that'd help me with the A Customs.
