my friend was given an old acoustic guitar, and we've been trying to find out some infomation about it.

All we know is that it is a Harmony Nevada, harmony being the brand. Its got a "Made in the USA" on it, and it has an 8 digit number inside the guitar.

I thought this number might be a serial number. It could also be a phone number, but that'd be just wierd.

So basically i was wondering if anyone had any infomation about these guitars.
Like if there is a website where u can punch in a serial number etc.

Cheers

    this will help you out

Most acoustic Harmony instruments have a serial number stamped on the inside of the body (tone chamber). The mark will look something like 4533H1215, The 4533 represents the production number, the H stands for Harmony of course, the 1215 is the model number. Serial numbers are harder to find on electric models. Some have a label on the inside of the hollowbody electrics that have the serial number, other than that, look under the pickguard of pickups. This site contains a general guide to identifying Harmony Instruments.
