Confused by tabs

I play the piano and am clueless on how to read tabs. Is there any way to translate guitar tabs into something semi recognizable for the piano? I can rip through Bach and Mozart but Vedder has me stumped ;) Thanks to anyone who can help!
I wish a guy like Eddie, would like me.

There is no easy direst way, no.

You have 2 options. The easiest would be to download or buy MIDI files of the songs, if you can. A MIDI reading programme like CAlkwalk or many others will display the musical notation for you and do key changes etc. What you get will depend on what teh MIDI programmer has put in there. You should get vocal melody for example, and chord progfr4essions, but you may or may not get solos and other detail parts.

Alternatively, you can transcribe form tab to treble staff, if you know what notes are where on a guitar fretboard. HAving said that, guitar parts are totally different to piano, and will not necessarily cross over in a way that makes sense.
    Music is not a competetion.

    Hey,

Download this program called power tab:

    http://www.power-tab.net/guitar.php

Then find the songs you want on here:

    http://www.ultimate-guitar.com

Its wicked shows guitar tab + normal music notation. Give it a shot to see what it does. :)

you have to pay for it but you get a free trial period.

Both programs are great. If you're having trouble learning it, you click play and it plays the midi while highlighting the notes.
