When PJ (Mike) play live and they play a song in standard tuning and go to another song with alternate tuning (EG Even Flow) whats the process?
Does Mike re-tune his guitar inbetween the songs?
Are there different guitars pre-tuned and then just go to a different guitar?
I hope this question makes sense but i really want to know!
Cheers,

Mike owns a ton of guitars - You've seen the list from 2005 right:

I thought that maybe they re-tuned inbetween songs maybe but in reality i guess that could never happen

But basically, oodles of guitars in different tunings, as teh man said, which drives me a little batty at times keeping up.
Then add all the other tunings that everyone else uses, and it gets a little silly. Jimmy Page is the worst. There are a bunch of different alternate tuning songs, all different, and some really odd tunings. MOst are great to play though, so I persist in doing them
I've been doing a lot of open G lately, playing Rolling Stone's stuff. That is an easy key to work in cos there is a block of stribngs that stay the same, so you can solo in standard while being tuned to open G. Daughter is similar, except for the 6th being G not D. This lets me play the solo in teh open tuning, with just a fingering adjustment on the 5th string needed.
Some people re-tune on stage though. I've seen Dan from the Black Keys do that. He's very adept at it, but also the only melodic instrument there, so if it's not perfect, it matters less.
JEFF HARDY AND JEFF AMENT USED TO LOOK THE SAME
