guitar since i was 12, so that's 13 years, and i try to play daily. (some days not as long as i would like though as works fairly demanding sometimes.)
Acoustic guitar - 1980 to 1996
Electric Guitar - 2002 to present
Drums - for a few months
I play pretty much every day, occasionally I have a music listening evening for a change, and to be sociable wiht my wife. I play drums a few times a week, not much endurance yet. My kick leg gives up.
I am still progresing steadily with guitar. I keep raising the bar of my expectations when I meet my goals. My next real goal is to play live.
i've been playing for 13 years but only get to play about twice a week for maybe 15-30 minutes these days since i'm old, i have kids and my life is over.
About 6-7 years now, try and put in an hour a day, but it's tough.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Guitar for about two years now. I've been cooped up with only my acoustic at college for the past nine months, but now that I'm home it's nice to be playing the electric again. Acoustic is nice, but my rock n' roll soul makes me an electric player deep down. At this point I'm really working on lead licks and trying to eliminate all the extra noise from my fingers brushing up against other strings, especially when bending. It can be a bitch sometimes.
It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win
13 years...now that i have a band i don't play much outside of band practice, at least not electric...usually just try to learn songs on acoustic to do my "homework" for band practice
Jam10, you didn't tell us how long YOU'VE been playing!
"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young
I've been playing for about 2 years. I played drums when I was younger, but always wanted to pick up guitar and I love it. I just wish I would've started earlier.
Tried learning off and on through high school, never stuck with it. Been playing seriously for a little over two years now. I don't practice nearly as much as I should, but then again being a junior in college I really don't even have time for it.
If idle hands are the devil's workshop, he must not be very productive.
I've been playing guitar (both electric and acoustic) about 2 years. I try to play everyday between 1 - 2 hours if I can. I am married and have a one year old so it can be tough sometimes but I am committed and I love playing so I stick with it. I take private lessons once a week with a great instructor. I have recently just joined a band playing lead guitar so I am really excited about that. We have our first gig on May 24th.
I started (bass) 12 years ago when I was 16. I've played daily for long but played less the last 2-3 years. I started again in January to play almost daily, bought a new bass, a new amp.

About 6-months  (lol), just read my profile
Me too for six months. Mostly acoustic, but I try to play about 15-20 minutes everyday.
I haven't really been playing guitar for 6-months - it was a little joke (LOL).
I guess you didn't read my profile - No matter, just keep at it - It can be quite
a rewarding experience, and it can also be quite therapeutic at stressful times.

Started at 10, stopped about 9 months later cos I hate my guitar teacher (didn't have a guitar at home so stopped playing altogether).
Bought my first guitar on my 15th birthday with money I had saved up from my paperround. I pretty much played powerchordss for a year until...
Had my first guitar lesson on my 16th birthday. It wasn't a planned thing to be on my 16th birthday, just took a whole year to hunt down a guitar teacher in the local area. Had lessons for 2 years.
And now I'm nearly 21.
I tell people I've been playing for 6 years, although really I knew the basics before that. Besides, I'm a pretty average player (I SUCK at improvisation) so saying I've been playing more than 6 years just makes it sound like I should be better than I am.
...and that's my life story

I'm not very good. Just an open chord (pro) strumming novice..... but I love it.
