So atm i'm running through a crappy 10w Crafter Cruiser. It sucks. I need a new amp, say no more than £200, that is good for lone practice, and maybe stand up in a band practice/small gig. Eventually i will get an Orange Head and Cab (Or maybe something else) but right now i just need an amp that sounds good enough for me to know whether i'm playing stuff right.

Epiphone Valve Junior Head + cheap cab....or maybe the Valve Junior combo.

    Used Fender Blues Junior

    Used Fender Pro Junior

    Used Fender Champ

    Vox Valvetronix 15w or 30w

I can't find the combo, but what about this EPIPHONE FIREFLY 30DSP

Otherwise i suppose: http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_valve_junior_head.htm + http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_valve_junior_1x12_cabinet.htm. One channel, but i have a decent effects pedal.

crate has some decent ones too in that range.

    also Ampeg.

You can't go wrong with a valve Jr and a decent pedal.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
  • I'd go with the head version of the valve junior. Get a Fulltone OCD in front of it, and you'll be off like a prom dress. Then go thru someone for a cabinet. I don't know if avatar ships over seas, but they have a great deal on a great great sounding 2x12 cabinet.
