now, i know we are all pretty damn cool ;) and we usually don't subject our guitars and other gear to horror songs, but i reckon we all have at least a couple of shockers in our closets that we love to play.

mines 'i just wanna live' by good charlotte  it's just a fun song to play and dance around to and be artarded.

what the hell is wrong with me!!!! .... everything? ;)

your turn......

The Gambler by Kenny Rogers comes to mind :p

  • A lot of Bon Jovi's catalogue springs to mind... but I'm not sure that counts as embarrassing. Um... Weezer's Beverly Hills? :p

Ohh man, Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" & Van Halen's "Panama".
Please don't ask me why I like to play these songs, I haven't got a clue.

As much as David Lee Roth puts the cock in cock-rock, I still enjoy Van Halen too.

Kansas... "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry On My Wayward Son"
    Bon Jovi... "Dead or Alive"
Guns 'n' Roses... "Sweet Child o' Mine"

There are many more that I just can't think of... my dad listened to a lot of 70's and 80's rock, so I grew up on that shit.

Plain White Tee's. It's on my list of things to do.

I am not ashamed of any song I like to play, even as a joke.
I am a proud gay man. OK, I'm not really gay, but you know what I mean.

Shit, we did George Michaels' "Faith" recently at a jam, and it was a hoot.

my friends and I started a cover band a few months back, and basically all the songs we play are songs i've HATED for years:

"My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit
"All the Small Things" by Blink 182
    "Inside Out" by Eve 6
    etc, etc, etc

the funny thing is, and much as i hate LISTENING to these songs, they are actually really fun to PLAY.....and playing them has almost made me appreciate them as songs

on the other hand, there are songs by my favorite bands, artists of substance like Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, etc that i love LISTENING to, that have spoken to my soul and changed my life, but they aren't necessarily fun to PLAY on guitar

so i think there is really a huge difference between Listening and Playing

I agree. One song we are doing is Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5. Now, this is not the sort of stuff I would normally listen to, but my band wanted to do it, so I learnt it.
It is a really great song to play, awesome groove to the riff, GREAT solo and when we played it at rehearsal, it went off !!!!!

I don't wanna miss a thing (the Aerosmith one) is a great party song to sing...trust me on that. I've actually tried to learn Stayin' Alive but I can't get it down for the life of me. After reading some of those songs, I've been inspired to learn them...you decide if that's a good thing or not ;)

Funky groove in Faith, very funky, plus our girl singer loves it. Nice little solo and it was dead easy to learn.
