anyone have any tips on playing this?
i'm trying to learn, but i can't seem to get into a rhythm, the rhythm (from what i can tell) just doesn't seem to fit with the singing
from what i can tell there are 6 strums per chord, with the accent going on the 5th, am i wrong?
(sorry if i'm getting the terminology wrong)

  • Don't get caught up in all that. Especially for a simple little song like this one just play it how it sounds - what comes naturally.

The wife has asked me to sing this one for our upcoming anniversary.

I'm sure I can figure it out, but just curious if anyone knows if this tab is accurate?

i noticed that the guy who wrote the song uses power chords when he sings it with Ed on one of the DVD extras?!

Ed plays open.. i think :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • I think Ed was just using open chords since Mark was using an acoustic with the B and e strings open, it sounded much better. When Ed plays it solo he does the barre chords

Yeah tab looks good, MArk Seymour actually arpeggiates this on teh LAMSG DVD.
It is s simple 8 beat, rather than 6 beat rhythm, played slowly rather than fast. I suspect that if it si giving you trouble, you might be playing it too fast. I think i play it wiht all downstrolkes as well.
