What guitar?

I read somewhere that Eddie likes playing Italian made electric guitars because some of them produce effects/distortion without pedals. As I am a new learner to the axe I am just wondering what brands they are? and how do they produce the effect?. I would appreciate some info as I am very keen to learn.
Thanks brothers!

I don't think Eddie does that... He uses Shecters, and more recently a Tele with a P-90. What he does do is control the amount of distortion by how hard he picks and the volume knob.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Schecter is an american guitar company...out in Cali I think. He has a couple of the PT (pete townshend) a black one and a gold one....They are similar to a Fender Telecaster...Back in 2000 he played them all the time on tour, but he's been changing it up as of the last couple of tours. Been seeing a lot of Gibson SG's in his collection now."It's all happening"0
