I read somewhere that Eddie likes playing Italian made electric guitars because some of them produce effects/distortion without pedals. As I am a new learner to the axe I am just wondering what brands they are? and how do they produce the effect?. I would appreciate some info as I am very keen to learn.

Thanks brothers!

I don't think Eddie does that... He uses Shecters, and more recently a Tele with a P-90. What he does do is control the amount of distortion by how hard he picks and the volume knob.

I am only new to playing the guitar so excuse my ignorance, what is a Shecters and a P-90,

  • Schecter is an american guitar company...out in Cali I think. He has a couple of the PT (pete townshend) a black one and a gold one....They are similar to a Fender Telecaster...Back in 2000 he played them all the time on tour, but he's been changing it up as of the last couple of tours. Been seeing a lot of Gibson SG's in his collection now.

Don't forget his Jerry Jones Sitar Electric Guitar model that he used during Parting Ways and the outtro to Inside Job

And don't forget the Gibson Pete Townshend Limited Edition model that is found on the 2005 Holiday Single.
