Just got teh latest edition of Guitar World magazine, which now incorporated some columnists from Guitar One since it folded.

There were two sensational pieces.

Interview with Jack White, great stuff.

Column by a guy called Richard Lloyd (P110) on why the guitar is tuned the way it is, and how that related to playing, and why learning stuff in C piano style is not helpful.
Music is not a competetion.

Is that the Richard Lloyd from the band Television?

Because if so, that guy rules.

Dunno, but he is from NY if that helps, I think.

The way he expalined stuff was superb.

  • i liked the interviews with ozzy and zakk wylde. very insightful.

i guess they really take their time mailing to australia. i actually found the october issue in my mailbox today (satriani and vai on the cover).

apparently it's october already. time to start thinking about halloween...

i was one of the guitar one readers whose subscription was switched over. so far i'm liking guitar world more. better interviews, clearer technical explanations, etc...
