OK, after the first rehersal, we knew we had to get the arrangements sorted, so we booked a rehersal room, and got stuck into it last night, for about 5 hours.
By the end, we played the whole set through and barring a few fluffed notes and chord changes, we nailed all the arrangements, and were really starting to just have loads of fun.
We have our next coaching session on Sunday, and we all just want to blow his socks off with tight confident playing.
It was really the first time I have played properly in a full band situation, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get there.
I'm even thinking I might go for a big solo on one song as opposed to the short lead breaks in most of them.
It's just the starts that I really need to get down now. There are 2 songs which start with drums, and I need to come in on an odd beat, which is causing much hilarity.
I have not managed to weasel any PJ in there yet, but I'm working on it.
