Les Paul Studio

Hi all,

Just bought a new Les Paul Studio with the swamp ash body. For anyone who is looking for a Les Paul and doesn't have the big bucks to buy the full Standard models this is a good option. The sound is rich and full, just like the Standard, but also has the ability to pull a little sharper in the bridge pick-up position. All-in-all a nice bit of gear. I paid $2,000 in Singapore Dollars (equivalent to about US$1500). I play it through a Fender Amp which gives a nice clean sound (think: Come Back). But I also play it loud and dirty too - for which my neighbours thank me every day :)

I have had a few different guitars over the years: Ricky 330, Les Paul Standard, Epiphone Casino, 1984 model Japanese 1962 Reissue Strat (which I still have) and a Ibanez Roadster (year?? 1980's). The Japanese strat is very nice actually - in the early/mid eighties the Japanese really did a good job for a while on these things - and the new PJ album has a lot of tone that can be gotten in a similar way from it....

Anyway, just a few thoughts for anybody out there who may care to have a read....

Have a great day!
