Can somebody tell me what model amp this is? I know it's a silvertone; but it doesn't have the model number anywhere on it and it looks like someone "updated" it a bit. I'd just like to know for when it's time to get new parts... thanks.

  • I don't know the model on that one.
It looks like a late 60's early 70's maybe. Silvertone was Sears name, and they were made for them by a few different manufacturers. That looks like one that Harmony would have made.
Kay made them for them, too, as did Danelectro, but they don't look like that one.
I bet Harmony made it. Maybe search around silvertone and harmony sites off google and see if you can get close.

There may be info under the covers on the back, too. Sometimes there are little stickers or tube charts that give a hint.

If anything goes on it, it's just parts that were used on almost any amp at the time, and in modern ones for that matter, so you probably wouldn't need a volume pot for a 1966 Sears smeggeger amp. It would be nice to have a schematic though if something REALLY was wrong, but an amp tech could figure that out anyway. If a capcacitor goes for, instance, a tech'll have a drawer full of them.

I love those old amps like that. I like the smell of burning dust when you turn them on. Lots of history!

If something DOES go wrong, maybe you could take it to the Sears repair department! :D
Maybe it's still under lifetime warranty!
