Hamer Duotone (The Original)

Ever since i saw Stone play "Daughter" on SNL many moons ago I've been searching for a duotone. I've finally come upon one for $900. It's been described to me as red but fading towards yellow around the pickups, although I'm told it's not a type of sunburst. It's the original with the three circular holes and not the f-holes that are standard now. What do you think? Should I...
