Love the color combination! Is there anyway you could move the poster up and to the left a bit? Seems to be shifted in the frame.

I did notice that after I posted the pic. Yes I'm going to slide it over. Thanks!

  • I stopped at my local frame shop, and asked some questions about the framing process. I have a '98 Pittsburgh poster to frame and want to archive it. I would rather if it was not glued to board. The woman told me if the poster was not glued to the board it will eventually look wavy in the frame. This is my first attempt at framing and was curious as to what most people do. I appreciate any information.

100% untrue. Don't use that shop. Competent fram shops will use archival mounting strips that won't allow any adhesive to touch the poster. As long as you flatten the poster sufficiently before framing if it's been rolled it won't look wavy.

Yes, do not take that '98 Pburgh Ames anywhere near that lady.

Yeah, I'm going to have to find another place. It took me way too long to find it and it cost too much to let her glue it on to something.

Glueing it down is also called dry mounting. Run the other way if someone tells you they are going to dry mount the poster.

To the guy looking for framing help --I rarely frame posters as well so i took a chance with Hobby Lobby this weekend because of the UV glass and acid free mat/backing. $86 after 50%off frames and 40% off mats coupons. Im happy with it. Watched them the whole time. Better job than i couldve done and very careful with it.

Yep. I've had a bunch of posters framed at Hobby Lobby and they've done a great job for a reasonable price.

You actually watched them frame the poster?? I usually just drop mine off and pick it up a few days later whenever it's done.
What does hobby lobby charge? Ballpark..i know every poster and frame style is different.
