Any examples or ideas for the Champaign 03 poster?
There are some odd colors used that Hobby Lobby & Michaels mats don't come close to. :(

I just went with the old B&W

I did museum glass in front, acrylic in back to keep the weight down. It was just short of $300 total.

Did this myself using American frame. Very happy with it! I may actually take it apart again to tweak the spacing on the two mattes but for now I'm so happy to have it framed and out of the file!!

    Looks great!

How did you like using American Frame & their online ordering. I'm guessing you probably saved a bunch.

I use American Frame for all of my posters except they are right down the street from me so I go right there with my poster & we go through everything right there in their showroom. The people that work there are great & are always a huge help.

They charge a small fee to put it together but I figure that they're the professionals plus there's no shipping so it works for me.

Thx! I love using American frame. It's fun to choose the matte colors and switch them out to see the effect on the little mock up on the computer. They send samples for free too so before making the final decision i recommend doing that. It's a lesson in patience bc you have to wait a little longer but worth the savings and I enjoy doing it. They are helpful on the phone too.

So after framing my Faile and Cracker Jack posters myself, then finding out the mattes and backers weren't acid-free. I re-ordered the backers and acid free mattes from a different p;ace (AmericanFrame.com) to redo those parts. It went well for the Faile poster and that looks good now. But the matte for the Cracker has too big of an opening. I actually nailed a position where it slips through the matte on both sides. This is unbelievable :(

Here's a little better pic. Hard to tell but the matte is a royal purple that matches the purple accents on the girls hair/dress.

That 2nd grader explanation did it for me.

Only get posters for shows I go to, sometimes not even then. I think Hartford 2013 wins in the most awesome show/most weird poster category. In the kids playroom, not sure where else it could go.
    image

And since Third Man is relevant right now with the vault, the ultimate White Stripes poster:

Your right on that Hartford poster. That one is strange.

Good luck with that. That's why I don't even bother trying to frame posters myself....I have zero artistic ability and I know I would just fuck it up. I feel much better letting the professionals handle it.

Picked up my "colored" Hampton poster over the weekend...
since my GREAT friend deadendp worked so hard on the poster,
I wanted to show the finished frame job to her before posting them here:

    image

I used a couple of pictures I took at the show as well as the pin, sticker and ticket in the frame job:

    image

I love the matte colors & the fillet Julia picked out:

    image

The matte details she did for the pin & ticket are sweet too!!

After being in the 10C since 98 and seeing 28 shows, I was finally bitten by the poster bug. I am really kicking myself for not having the patience or time to wait in line for posters of all the shows I have attended. I am making up for lost time but started w Wrigley 16 and it's snowballed from there lol. Takes me back to my baseball card collecting days, albeit slightly more expensive!
