I love reading the msgs here. i dont post much myself, but i notice that so many people are having problems getting tickets for shows. i have to tell you that i am rarely lucky enough to get my tickets from the ten club. i still maintain my membership and get my tickets from the dreaded ogre ticketmaster when i have to. that being said.... with all the $hit that ticketmaster is and stands for, why doesnt the ten club offer more tickets at their pre-sales? people get made fun of for whining or whatever, but why are so many fans having trouble getting tickets? it seems to me that if we added up all the ten club members that have to scrounge for tickets, it would be a helluva lot. any thoughts?

  • well the 10 club can't get an unlimited # of seats from the venue. Each venue only allows a certain number of tix to fan clubs.

Why can't the 10c get an unlimited # of tix? The venue still gets paid. It's no different to selling tix through ticketmaster.

Most places probably have a contract of some sort with TM concerning how they sell their tickets. Even if they don't, TM would never allow an entire venue to be sold where they have no say in the matter. No bodies getting some honey if TM ain't holding the honey jar, if you get what I'm saying.

  • the 10C should limit the number of shows people can buy tickets for. personally I have not had a problem buying tickets yet. but you see all the time people get shut out of the show a few miles down the street, and the people that are traveling with the band going to every show.

    just a thought.

Then, I think you wind up with the other side of the coin ... the 10C not selling its allotment to each show, and you wind up with venues 3/4 full ... or 1/2 full of douchebags.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

I'm sure if they could, they would. There have been a number of threads on this subject, giving the reasons why (ie contracts between venues and TM, etc.).
Do a search and find out for yourself.
