Getting turned onto their music was a landmark in my life. I remember 1991 and hearing grunge for the first time. I was young, but its impact is etched into my dna.
but the last 2 years I have listened to little to no PJ. Dont know what it is. Maybe a match will be lit under me again, who knows.
For years I was one of those kids who felt like I wish I was older during the heydey of grunge and had seen the big 4 play. And I would spend alot of time wishing grunge and the early 90's was back.
then one day, I started listening to indie rock and it brought back with it, the excitement I felt as a kid hearing bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, I felt like they were speaking for and about me. Band of Horses, bright Eyes, Iron and Wine, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Ray Lamontagne, and many others now take up my stereo space. I rarely listen to any other genre. Once again, I am enthralled in a genre that I feel I can call my own...
how odd, a band that I loved and continue to love, would figure so small in my music listening habits for the last 2 years.

Pearl Jam has helped me open my mind to other music and listen to more genre's and bands. Thanks to PJ, I am now a strong fan of My Morning Jacket, Mogwai, Sleater-Kinney, John Doe...
Pearl Jam has just made a profound impact on my life. The way I interpret things, the way I think.
We're all Pearl Jam fans for one reason or another and I'm sure you won't forget yours

Me too, I don't have time to hang around looking for new bands.
