Have the guys made any statements on Obama or the war lately?

For a band who are almost synonomous with politics, at least in the last few years, they have been extremely quiet on Obama and the war in the last year or so.

Why do you think this is?

I thought people were saying they were gonna do a vote For change-esque tour for election 2008, obviously that never materialized.

you would think ed would be out there talking about obama and saying he supported obama, but would demand he bring troops home as well

If you were looking for it, you'd hear it everywhere. Ed is all about how Obama is a blessing in this interview he conducted with Josh Brolin -

    I couldn't agree more.

unless ed became a new person between 2006 and 2008, I think he is also antiwar.

    And obama isnt really antiwar.

Conflict of interest i would say.

So I assume, hopefully he will be forceful in asking obama to withdraw troops as well!
  • Sigh ... you want Obama to bring the troops home ... all of them? Right now? Or not even right now, but within the first 100 days?

You are delusional. And if Ed thinks that should happen, he is, too.

Obama is about as anti-war as one can be without being dangerously irresponsible. I'd be willing to bet the vast of majority of troops are home from Iraq before the end of his first term.

The rest of the world, it will depend on the circumstances on the ground, as it should.

And let me clarify that I am not an Obama supporter. I voted for McCain. I just think he (Obama) is getting a ridiculously bad rap from a fringe group of kooks who don't really understand how the world works.

As for Ed ... should be call a friggin' press conference daily, to update every day how he's feeling about Obama at this precise moment? He supported him quite vociferously throughout the campaign ... I'm assuming he still supports him, given, you know that OBAMA HASN'T EVEN TAKEN OFFICE YET.

If Ed abandoned Obama now, I'd pretty much decide I can never believe a word that comes out of Ed's mouth again.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
