Does ANYONE know hot to play off he goes the way that Ed does solo? I/ve been searching but not a single person seems to know to how play it. Please post a good tab, PLEASE!

  • easy easy easy. look up the tab - it'll probably be correct. Most sites just stole the ones from Given to Wail (btw when's that site coming back up? ) anyway it seems.

    Basic chords,..

    intro... F - Amin..

    verse... F - C ..... F - C -Amin,.. F -C....

chorus... just like the intro. Then just like the verse...

Bridge is a riff on C and F that's not hard to figure out (Ending on aminor like the verse).

    Solo in aminor/cmajor btw.

There you go, that's as good as it gets, stolen directly off GTW
You can access all teh tabs there, but you have to sign up as a forum member before you get acceess to teh "TAB" section, then there is a link to a zip file. I only justy worked out how to unlock it.
Press extract, save to desktop, then open in wordpad, if you open in notepad, it's just garbled junk.
I think it was a guy called "ament" on that forum who saved all this and set it up.

    Title: Off He Goes
    Album: No Code

    Intro:

    F Am (x2)

    F C

    Verse:

    F C
    Know a man
    F C Am
His face seemed pulled and tense
    F C F C Csus4 C Am
Like he's riding on a motorbike in the stron-gest winds
    F C
    So I approach with tact
    F C
    Suggest that he should relax
    F C G7 F
But he's always moving much too fast
    F Am
Said he'll see me on the flipside
    F Am
On this trip he's taking for a ride

    Chorus:

    F F C F C
He's been taking too much on
    F C F C Csus4 C Am
There he goes with his perfectly un - kept clothes
    F C
    There he goes

    Interlude:

    Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4 C C (x4)

    Csus4 C Am

    Verse:

    F C
    He's yet to come back
    F C
    But I've seen his picture
    F C F C Am
It doesn't look the same up on the rack
    F C
    We go way back
    F Am
    I wonder about his insides
    F Am
It's like his thoughts are too big for his size

    Chorus:

    F F C F C
    He's been taken where I don't know
    F C F C Csus4 C Am
Off he goes with his perfectly un - kept hope
    F C
    There he goes

    Interlude:

    Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4 C C (x4)

    Csus4 C Am

    Verse:

    F C
And now I rub my eyes
    F C
    For he has returned
    F C F C Csus4 C Am
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned
    F C
    For he still smiles
    F C
    And he's still strong
    F C F C Csus4 C Am
Nothing's changed but the surrounding bullshit, that has grown
    F C F C F C F C Csus4 C Am
And now he's home and we're laughing like we always did my same old, same old friend
    F C
    Until a quarter to ten
    F C
I saw the strain creep in
    F C F C Csus4 C Am
He seems distracted and I know just what is going to hap - pen next
    F C F C
Before his first step he is off again

    Outro:

    Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4 C C (x2)

    C* C (x2)

    Csus4 C Am

    F C

    Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4 C C (x2)

    Csus4 C Csus4 C Csus4 C Am

    F C (x4)

    Unusual Chord(s):

    Csus4 Csus4 G7 G7
fret: I II III IV fret: I II III IV
    E 0---|---|---|---| --0-- E |-1-|---|---|---| --1--
    B |-1-|---|---|---| --1-- B |---|---|-4-|---| --3--
    G 0---|---|---|---| --0-- G 0---|---|---|---| --0--
    D |---|---|-4-|---| --3-- D 0---|---|---|---| --0--
    A |---|---|-3-|---| --3-- A |---|-2-|---|---| --2--
    E |---|---|---|---|
    E |---|---|-3-|---| --3--
    (numbers represent
    finger used to play
    the corresponding fret)

    C* C*
    fret: I II III IV
    E |---|---|-4-|---| --3--
    B |-1-|---|---|---| --1--
    G 0---|---|---|---| --0--
    D |---|-2-|---|---| --2--
    A |---|---|-3-|---| --3--
    E |---|---|---|---|

C* is really just another form of a regular C chord, I just couldn't think
of any other way to refer to it.

I also recommend playing the F like so:

    F F
    fret: I II III IV
    E |-1-|---|---|---| --1--
    B |-1-|---|---|---| --1--
    G |---|-2-|---|---| --2--
    D |---|---|-3-|---| --3--
    A |---|---|---|---|
    E |---|---|---|---|

Yeah, just the forums. The old site with all the tabs laid out is gone. That zip file has a lot of songs. I had printed off a lot, and I have a pretty big stash of hard copy, but not a lot of soft copy.
I hadn't worked out how to open the zip until today, for that tab.
I don't think Rick is ever going to bother to put the site back together properly.
Maybe it will prompt PJ to publish some more, but I doubt it.

Given to wail lives on by using the archive pages...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
