ok, i'm currently selling my jcm900 keeping my laney vc30, trouble is, my vc30 has a decent punchy overdrive but the gain doesn't stretch to a distortion sound like my jcm900, anyone got any suggestions to what pedal to go for?

thinking

mxr distortion+, Big Muff, keeley SD1,

im thinking a ts9 or bd2 won't add to much to what ive already got, unless anyone else can tell me otherwise?

please give me your knowledge!!

look at a couple fulltone products. the OCD and the distortion pro.

    the mi audio crunchbox.

    subdecay blackstar

    proco rat possibly.

the distortion + might be ok. really depends on the amp.

you're right not to bother with the TS-9. wouldn't go with an DS-1 or BD-2 either in this case.

the muff is just too over the top for a main sound in my opinion. it's not exactly an organic sound.

Analogman or Keeley modded DS-1 or SD-1. The BD-2 and TS-9 may not cut it. The TS-9 DX might though. I found a couple DIY pages with SD-1 and DS-1 things that are absolutley amazing.

I have an old script logo MXR Distortion+ which I love. Presuming the new ones sound the same (and, let's face it, that "vintage mojo" talk is usually complete rubbish), I think they're as good an option as any.
