Wanted some input...

We all know what 10 means (mookie blaylock) and vs is how the band felt at the time (1993), vitalogy was or is the name the liner notes were taken from, but what does No Code, Yield and Binaural mean in terms of those albums? Assuming the band names each album because they have a theme, what theme is present in those 3 albums? Another thing I realized is, PJ never names a record after a song on the album or a line in a song. So I am assuming they name records because of the theme present.

any help here?

I don't know about No Code, but I've always thought it had to do with the eclectic nature of the album.

I've always seen the title 'Yield' as relating to Ishmael

Binaural refers to a recording technique that was utilized for several songs (maybe all -- not sure about that??)

I heard something about it being called No Code because there was no bar code somewhere and it wasnt tracked as easily...couldve been stupid.

I dont know anything about Ishamel but im sure its smart. In Single Video Theory they say its about yielding to nature, which is the way i like to think of it too.
I still say Riot Act is short for Patriot Act.

I always thought that No Code was from the medical field as a term for "do not resuscitate". If it is a no code, the nurses and doctors know not to try to bring the victim back. When some one “codes” they go into a life threatening event, a no code is medical slang for let them die. So Vitalogy is life and the next album, No code, is death. If you think about it, the no code era may have been the lowest for PJ. We really may never know how close No Code was to being their last album.
There's no need to say goodbye
