Dexterity

I am a beginner. I've been playing for a few months learning chords, etc. One of my biggest frustrations getting my fingers to spread out more on the fret board...mainly my middle and ring fingers. They seem to want to stay right next to each other. Anyway, I am curious if anyone out there knows of good excercises to practice in order to build up dexterity.
Cheers!

You have to teach your fingers where to go through repitition/practice. Learning scales will help your fingers.

I would imagine the best exercise for manual dexterity would be working them out on the fretboard. Pound those chords and scales into your fingers.

Once you can finger the chords, move to switching between them. When that happens, your off and ready to learn all those songs you love and write your own.

    Hope that makes sense.....

honestly practice is the only way. I had that problem for ages and my pinky is still kinda weak but if you do stretch exercises you'll build up dexterity.
