i got bored so i listened to the song off youtube and tried to figure out the lyrics and chords. I know some are probably way off, but its's a start. Here are the chords for the song as well.

G Am
I speak for the man who gave for this land
C Em
Took a bullet in the back for his pain
G Am
Spilled his blood in the dirt and the dust

He's come back to stay

G Am
But what he has seen is hard to believe
C Em
And it does no good to just pray
G Am
Oh he asks of us to stand and we must
C F (look at tab)
End this war today

Em Am
With his mind he's saying no more
Em Am
With his heart he's saying no more
Em Am D
With his life he's saying no more war
G Em C D
With his eyes he's saying no more
G Em C D
With his body he's saying no more
G Em C D G Em
With his voice he's saying no more war
C D G Em C (hold C to next verse)
No more war

G Am
Nothing's too good for a veteran
C Em
Yeah this is what they say
G Am
So nothing is what they will get
C Em
In this new American way

Lies that were told to get us to know

Our criminal oh let us be straight

Lets get to the point will our voices get heard?

Play this chord, then lift your pinky off the 3rd fret of the D string and place it on the 3rd fret of the high E string. If you listen to the song you will hear when to switch.

Strum this chord, then lift your finger off the 2nd fret of the D string and then place it on the 2nd fret of the A string, then move it to the 3rd fret of the A string, then strum the D chord. This is how it is played in the "No more innocent's dying part" On the "President's lying" part, strum the Am, then move the finger to the 2nd fret of the A string, then go right to a C chord, then to a D.

Thanks. I gotta play a song for school next week, maybe I'll whip this out (acoustic).
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Cool. I might play this at my school, too.

I think I've picked up a few of the "?" in the vocals.

From what I can hear (and I could be wrong), it sounds like he's saying:

"Spilled his blood in the dirt and the dust"

"Oh he asks of us to stand and we must"

"Our criminal let us be straight."

I can't figure out the last one, though.
"There is only one thing I dread: not to be worthy of my sufferings."

  • thanks bro going back and listening it actually sounds like hes saying what you wrote. i edited the lyrics and put your interpretations in there
  • i think that one line with the ? is

    no more eulogizing

but thats what it sounds like to me, plus it makes sense preceding no more evangelizing.
"You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry."  - Lincoln

"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."

i think it is "end this war today" as opposed to "In this war today"
at least thats how i hear it
