A wonderful song. I really love it.
    Really good on acoustic guitar.

I began learning this song today. It's really easy and a lot of fun. But can someone tell me how to play Stone's part in the middle of Mike's solo? It's definitely the best part of the song (especially in the Benaroya Hall version... wow). It's just two or three chords, but I'm not sure what they are.

My friend and I are learning to play it as well and we think it is Eminor twice fast then to d7 three times fast with a hammer on and off the g string....good luck

SBB, I messed up the name of that chord.

This is the right chord that you played ... it's called Asus
    E -0-
    B -3-
    G -2-
    D -0-

    This is a D7, which isn't played
    E -2-
    B -1-
    G -2-
    D -0-

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say the first chord you have tabbed is actually Dsus more correctly Dsus2. Asus/sus2 is a chord with the B string open like this

    E- 0
    B- 0
    G -2
    D-2
    A-0

Hmm, I'm bad with chord names so you may be right. I got the information though from http://www.chordfind.com by doing a "Reverse Chord Find." When I plug in the chord you listed above, it says it's an Esus ?

the first string is muted, i'm not sure how you type that in at that website

but you'd see it written as x02200

There is really no such chord as Xsus, it is either sus2 or or sus4, where the 3rd is raised semitone to a 4th, or lowered a semitone to a second, either producing an effect of "not-quiteness" or tension, which is resolved when you move to teh major form. A common motif with D and A is to dance between the 3 forms creating an "is it, isn't it" kind of tension.

Cadd9 is often refered to as Csus, which I think is just plain inaccurate.
