As some of you know, I've been looking at buying an American Series Strat. My question is, would this be a good deal.

http://songbirdmusic.com/product_details.asp?id=12318&ret=%2Fproducts%5Flist%2Easp%3Fnav%3D1%26loc%3D%26Clear%3Dy%26ss%3DFender%2BStratocaster%26SupplierID%3D%26catID%3D21&catID=21&nav=1&loc=&Clear=y&ss=Fender+Stratocaster&SupplierID=

Or would it be worth getting a new one? Are the post 2002 Strats really that much nicer with all the improvements?

Keep in mind the price is in Canadian:p

I have a 2005 American Strat, and I love it. Also have a JM Strat, which is American made, and thats even sweeter!

I've been reading more and more into the Japanese Fenders and I like what I'm seeing so far. I plan to get a CIJ 62 Reissue (sunburst of course) within the next 8 months or so.

  • Keep checking eBay. When I had money for an American Ash Strat and I was looking I found one on ebay brand new 2006 with 10 sets of strings, and a Line 6 Tone Port for a buy it now of 900$...of course it required an instant payment of 900$ and I couldn't do that right away.

Right now I'm in the market for a decent acoustic no more than 500.
