early tone

just a question ,maybe someone can help me out....i love stones sound on ten and especially on the temple of the dog record,if any one has a clue on what his set up ( eq setting,strings,effects,amps,tunings,etc.) i would be soooo grateful....a few friends and i are starting to mess around as a three piece and even though its not "my" sound , i've always loved the TOTD sound and think that would be a great sonic template to start with.....thanks again
i have faced it....a life wasted
i'm never going back again....

    I have a 50mb clip of the boys playing Alive on SNL, Sharon Stone was hosting... Not sure of the year, But he is playing thru a marshall full stack, Les Paul Guitar. Jeff is awesome in this performance. They look so young. If you have a place where I can ftp or email this, Id be happy to. Its kind of large however.

    the SNL videos would more than likely already be on youtube.com if you're not familiar with that...as well as a ton of more early videos of the guys where u can try and disect what gear they were using in a live format from those year.

    there are two good pictures of a marshall head in the date/place book that look to be from the early days.
