Drummers - tom placement questions

Anyone else wish they could lower their toms, but cant because the bass drum is there? I wish I could just lower another two inches to get the best angle, but the f'ing bass drum is in the way. Anyone else run into this?

It's either high/angled or low/flat. I prefer low/flat and mine sit pretty low. A solution to your problem would be to buy a stand with a tom attachment and you could set it more to the left of your bass drum.

That's true. I did buy a smaller tom for the left, shifted the next one over to the right, and moved the right one onto a stand, but if I get another stand, I can hover it a little more to the right. Hmmm... but then the one all the way to the left would be over the top of the bass drum, making that one higher.

I need another bass drum. I think that'll be the cheapest way to go.

Here's how I've got mine. The left (smaller) tom is on a stand. The right is mounted by the bass.

you can see that the snare almost at the same height as the toms

You can always trade them in for fusion sized toms or more shallow toms....or smaller bass drum....may a 20"?

I used to have them setup like this (used to 2 bass drums), but found it hard to get around to the floor tom when playing Slayer and faster songs with many tom rolls.

Now, I added a 10" and placed them like this. I got used to the toms being slightly "flatter"

I did end up getting a smaller (9"?) tom to replace my first one, then just shifted them all to the right, but that only helped so much.

I'll have to look at some options. Since it's a premier resonator set, I don't think I'll find anything to replace the toms with that'll be the same brand and style. They discontinued them a long time ago.
