Guitar pedal suggestions?

Hello, I had a digitech multi-effects guitar processor that recently crapped out on me. Does anyone have any suggestions for guitar pedals? I am not sure what is better, to go with individual pedals or a multi-processor? I would think that individual pedals would be the preferred method, but I don't really have a decent amp at this time and I want to create different sounds. Any suggestions on brands, or different products would be appreciated.

Well I just have a small Squire 15 watt amp. It's already too loud for my apartment, so I don't intend on buying a stack or anything til I get out of my place. When I do buy an amp, I want a Marshall 1960B 4x12 and a Hi-watt head.

if you're playing your own primarily and want to make a wide range of sounds, i'm going to suggest a line 6 POD XT live.
it's a floor board based multieffects probably very similar to your digitech but also probably better.
the little squire would do an adequate job in that case or the pod gives you the option of just using headphones.
pods take some time to tweak but they sound very good if you're willing to invest the time in them.
what digitech did you have?
Cool, thanks for the suggestion. I was just reading about that Pod in a magazine today. Something I would definitely consider. I have the Digitech rp200. I was considering the Digitech rp300a, which has an extra pedal so I would be able to switch between two different amp sounds, but I am not so sure about that product. I loved my Rp200, but if those pedals are going to crap out and stop working after only 2 years of moderate play, than I am a little weary of buying another one, even if it is a step up.

i don't have any background on the reliability of the floor based pods. i have the desktop version of the XT. but the sounds are pretty good for the price. good way to get into recording on the computer and such as well.
Cool, thanks a lot.

you realize how much a hi-watt head is gonna run ya? new your looking into the hi 3000's if you need it shipped from the UK. if you happen to find a store within a couple hundred miles it would be around 3 grand.

Yeah, I know they are not cheap, but I love the sound. That's my ideal setup, us poor musicians can't always get everything we want...LOL.

i think there are better alternatives for the british bash'n'trash amp sound, available widely in north america. Randall amps was made when the original home-boy of Hiwatt left, its the same design just different name, and seems to be cheaper. Orange amps as well are cheaper and available in NA. There are lots of boutique amp builder that imitate the Hiwatt sound, and i would honestly say they are built better. so many options, it comes down for the best tone for the best dollar.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that about Randall. I have done some research with Orange amps. I was also considering them as well.
