I am the female singer in a rock band. I have a high pitched voice and I need to deepen it a little bit. I'd appreciate any help or tips with this. Thanks!

I'm not saying stupidity should be a capital offence, but what say we take the safety labels off everything and let nature run it's course?

The best way to expand your range is to practice. Practice scales and work on singing lower. The more you practice, your voice will open up and your range will increase.

I may catch shit for this, but I use the American Idol voice coach dvd/cd. It has some good lessons and technique tips to work on your range. I use the warmup exercises before my bands gigs. They do help quite a bit.

My range has improved as well as my power and projection. You can apply the ideas to rock music too.

BTW- Ed Vedder's vocal coach is on the DVD. So, it can't be all bad.
