I don't care how technical it is or whatnot...that solo gets my blood rushing and my head pounding everytime. The solo is PURE rock n' roll.

Of course. Alive is an amazing solo. Full of emotion.

I could actually put any McCready solo in my top 5. I really like the solo from Down.
McCready is by far my favourite player.

Followed by: Jimmy Page, Slash, EVH, and Zakk Wylde.

I learned the No More Tears solo for my band in highschool, but we never ended up playing it. I made sure I could Eruption in there instead, even though it's not as hard as it looks. Just very flashy and a whole lot of fun to play.

How about comfortably numb, from pulse? Definately one of my favorites.

  • Comfortably Numb is a great solo too. Top 5 of my favourites. Listen to Time from DSOFTM. Great solo there too.

David Gilmour is one of the most lyrical players. His phrasing is amazing, beyond pretty well all other famous players. Add Knopfler to that category as well.

PS. Comfortably Numb is from the Wall.

  • yes Knopfler is great

Sultans of Swing is an amazing solo

All of the fast picking in that song is amazing. I don't know how Knopfler does it!
