Hey peeps,

I am a guitarist....a mediocre one really. Always writing new licks and i think some of them are quite original. I just cannot write lyrics. I have things to write about but when i put pen to paper it always sounds too contrived, like a cheesy pop rock song.

Any help? I need you guys.

rule #1 - Don't try and be so poetic, say what you mean, mean what you say
rule #2 - rhyming is like beer - have one or 2 and you'll be fine, feel pretty good. The more you have past that the sicker you feel, eventually if theres enough puking will be involved.

Don't use too much structure. Write one line at a time;individual lines are more memorable than verses. You only need a couple of lines that relate to one theme the rest should be quite vague but fit within the melody
