Maybe its because I'm at work way too early on a Friday, or just the anticipation of a new axe on the way, but I thought it'd be fun, for those of us that can remember everything to do a rundown of everything we've bought and sold this year. I know for some of us that go through stuff like people go through underwear, it might be tough, but hey, it could be fun. So I'll start off the proceedings.

So, this year, I have bought the following:
Pedals:
Boss BD-2 (later modded by Keeley)
Maxon AD-9
Fender Blender
Shannon Distortion
Ibanez TS-9 (later modded by Keeley)
Greedtone
Vox McCoy Wah

Guitars:
Gibson SG Special in Teal (also threw some covers on the pickups, just because I think it looks better!)
Gibson Custom Shop '58 Les Paul Junior Doublecut in TV Yellow (love that P-90 and the sustain you get on that thing!)
Fender John Mayer Signature Strat (just delivered to my office by UPS, its a beauty, can't wait to take it home and play the hell out of it!)

Amps:
1974 Fender Vibro Champ

Now, the stuff I sold this year, it was all pedals:
Boss SD-1
Boss DS-2
Shannon Distortion
Fender Blender

And thats it. Looking back on the list, it definitely explains why I'm always broke!

Why don't you show the front of that JG? :D
  • I hardly buy and sell stuff at all. But I did do two great deals this year:

I traded a useless Fender USA Strat for my absolutely gorgeous acoustic Guild D25CH from 1978. Best gear move I ever made, period.

I sold a vintage Boss Flanger BF-1 I found on my sisters attic for €200.

Oh, and I bought me two Hohner Bluesharps (in G and C).

    Good times.

And here's a pic of two of my most recent acquisitions! John Mayer Signature Strat in Shoreline Gold, the picture doesn't do it justice. It looks so much better! And plays like a dream. So glad I picked it up. And the 1974 Fender Vibro Champ!

  • I bought a 12-pack of Dunlop .88mm picks and some Vic Firth drum sticks . GOD I can't wait to get out of college so I can have some money. But I do have some plans for the upcoming year...

    2007:
Fender American Roadhouse Strat (Sunburst/Brown-Tortoise shell)
    Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb
Some type of semi-hollowbody for under $600
    Camden I '06, Camden II '06, Bonnaroo '08, Camden I '08, Camden II '08, Philly Spectrum II/III/IV '09, MSG I '10, MSG II '10, Made In America '12, Wrigley '13, Brooklyn II '13, Philly I '13, Philly II '13, ...
  • I bought a Les Paul Classic that's great

Epi Elitist Les Paul that is now sitting waiting for me to put in the Lindy Fralin pickups and a Bigsby on it

A few Guyatone 60's guitars that I love! They have slide switches and rocker switches and chrome and cheesey looks, and sound amazing. Surfs up!!

Sold a Les Paul Standard that I never really bonded with.

Picked up a Martin EM-18 electric. Great guitar, with a lot of versatility in the switching. Two humbuckers and stock phase and split switches. Martin only made them for a couple of years in '79 and '80.

Picked up quite a few Martin Stinger SSX's. Martin designed, made in Korea with great Martin necks, and plywood or alder bodies.(you don't know till you get it!) The electronics are so so, but I get them and fix them up and you can turn a $100 guitar into a great player. I give them away to either the right kid in need, or to a school so they can use it to teach.

The back fell off my Gretsch New Yorker and the top is coming off, and the frets are popping out. You just can't find a good guitar in the trash anymore! :D

My Boss/Roland Loop Station is awesome. You can play up to 5 minutes into it and then record on top of it. It's perfect for my monthly solo art gallery gig. You just set up something in there and add to it as you go.

On the Epi valve head, is there only one knob on it? I have never seen one up close. Also, why is it called a "Valve" head?

I think the only thing I bought this year was the reissue of the Fender Blues Deluxe amp, which rocks. I wanted one when they first came out, back in the early 90's...but couldn't afford it. I think I bought my fender blender in late '05. Got a Whammy Pedal for my birthday this year. It's FUN.

My wishlist for '07 is easy...a Hughes & Kettner Tube Tools Tube Rotosphere MKII and a new and extremely good power supply for all my pedals and the time(and patience) to make my Pedalboard Ver. 2.0

Yep, only one knob. Really really fun to play. I recommend changing the tubes though. Called a valve head cause tube and valve amp means the same thing ;-)

I smell a January Mercury Magnetics purchase.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

Just as long as you don't smell the Mercury Magnetics :D

That would really suck. Nothing says "oh shit" like smoke pouring out of the back of your amp. Those trannies are spendy, and built like a tank...so unless you try to plug...say...directly into a high tension wire...you'll be good to go :)

Just like sennin, this was my first year playing as well.

1996 Fender MIM Strat (ice blue)
    Roland Cube 15
    Boss DS-1
    MXR Phase 90

    Anticipated:
If I get the $625 I think I'm going to get, I'll get a Traynor YCV40 or a Fender Blues Deluxe or HRD. I really don't know!

I'm also probably getting either a TS9 or Crybaby 95Q for xmas.
