seeing as no one seems to be replying, I thought I'd ask straight, Im a begginer, and I wanted to know, should I get this (electric) acoustic, I'm not bothered about the electric, but I heard it was a straight up good guitar anyway,. What do you think?

  • Hey Boom,

looks good, but does it sound good? i would take a trip to brighton when you can and go in the store and try it out. but, saying that - if you are willing to spend a little more, say an extra £70, go for a washburn. good beginner acoustics. you really need to get your hands round it before you part with £.

go to different shops and try other brands, you be surprised at what you can find for the same money.

some how, i'm quite sceptical or even suspicious of guitars that look that good ( eg:flame tops) for the price, but its made with mahogony and ash woods so it could be a bargain.
the problem is that this subject is so subjective that it all comes down to actually holding the guitars for real and then make a educated guess as to what you prefer.

hell, it's 3 times better than what i first learnt on, a £40 3rd hand country guitar that my mum saw in a brick a brack junk shop in town. still have it too! the neck is like a tree trunk. get something easy to play with a slim nice neck, thats probably best thing to look for after the price tag.
Dont take drugs and be a loser
wear a pink shirt and go down the boozer
  • Thanks, good thing I live in brighton, but I'd never go into the shop again, they treat their customers like shit. But I guess you're right, £135 seems too much for a begginer guitar, I dont like the look of it, and the only reason I thought of getting it, is because it was reccomended.

Heres some other Ideas I thought of (from the same site):

    - mabye I could try and grab a second ahnd one of those, apparently they're a "begginers dream" (before I buy something, I look up reviews of it) and for £109 its not too bad, at least it doesnt look it.

    - this is my dream guitar, when I earn enough money, and got better, I'd get one of these

Someone reccomended a washburn here, and apparently this is "an excellent begginer guitar" but the guy who reccomended the Ibanez said its shit, so I dunno what to do here.

Can someone explain what the fuck that is?

If anyone else can reccomend anything else thats fairly cheap, (you might wanna look on that site) but it must have 6 strings, 12's confuse the shit outta me.

a friend of mine has that ibanez and it really is a nice electro acoustic guitar but acoustically it is pretty bog standard due to the smaller body. The way i see it is that it is an acoustic designed for mainly electric players as it feels and plays kinda like an acoustic strat clone. As for GAK in brighton they are a damn good online company and ive brought many items from them in the past including my new usa strat and my marshall stack.
I'm not saying stupidity should be a capital offence, but what say we take the safety labels off everything and let nature run it's course?
