hey guys,

just wondered what you all think of this mic, http://www.bluemic.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Products&file=index&prod_id=18

Im looking to do a bit of guitar and vocal recording at home. Im not looking for anything amazing but just something that sounds good and can get the job done. not looking to spend that much money either.

what do you think of the snowball? or do you have any other recomendations?

thanks.

In general, Blue MICS aren't really that great sounding.
You'll need to A/B them, but you can find better sounding mics for $99.
    Personally, for $99 I'd rather have the Audio-Technica AT2020.

Generalizations about mic's are difficult to make. a mic that sounds great on your voice might not sound great on mine...same with mic's for guitar amps. You can get some consensus on what to expect from each mic, but until you put it in front of your source material (your voice...your guitar), it's anybody's guess.

I'd say that the Blue could be a good mic, but if there's any way that you could try before you buy I'd strongly encourage it. an SM57 might be a better choice, and then you'd save some coin :)
