common for a guitar to crack?

I just bought a new guitar to start learning on it, and I became aware of a crack in the neck. Now im not sure if it was there when i bought it or only appeared when I was trying to tune it and tightening the strings. Is it common for the neck part of an accoustic to crack like that? It seems to be getting worse, and now im contemplating returning it.

    you should return it if possible. it would not be common for the neck of any halfway decent guitar to crack unless it was previously dropped. what kind of guitar is it?

    Where'd you get it?
    If you got it from a bigger name like Guitar Center, just return it ASAP.

    If from a pawn shop or non-reputable place you'll probably be S.O.L.

    oh wow hahahaha yea, trust me, don't buy guitars from walmart. prooobobly not the smartest decision.

    the good thing about about a guitar from walmart is that you can exchange it with no problem. the problem is that whatever walmart guitar you exchange it for is still going to be a piece of crap.

    I just got a Washburn that was only like $150. Not great quality, but much better than FirstAct or whatever it was that you purchased.
