I just started taking some classes a few weeks ago, so i'm not anything great. I think I saw a thread like this a while back what I can't find it anymore. So I was wondering if anyone could suggest some pearl jam (or any band that you think i might listen to?) songs that aren't to hard? I'm running out of this to play!

i asked for this thread to be made a sticky for us beginners so we wouldnt have to keep asking but alas, it was not to be :)

    good luck!!
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I am on this board to try to find some easy tab for the new album - came across your posting and can totally empathise! I have been playing for about a year - totally learning on my own - and desparately wanting to play decent PJ.

    Small Town is easy
    Daughter is easy
Not for You is a good one

and World Wide Suicide is great if you are OK with Barre Chords. PRETTY simple when you get used to it. Actually - if you can learn them, you can play EVERY Green Day song and feel like a champ (along with any other modern band on the radio). New U2 uses a bunch of barre chords too - Edge tends to stay picking notes between the 10th and 12th fret though

New PJ seems to be using a bunch of barres as well. There is tab somewhere for Gone and I played it right through the first time (it wasn't GREAT or anything) but I felt satisfied from it!

Good luck - let me know what you come up with.

    Peace!

There's a tab for Gone on Giventowail.com...I tried it. Ick. Sounds like something that's dying.

I need to practice. Although I did pick up the beginning of Footsteps, Sad, and Don't Gimme No Lip pretty good...but I can't seem to get past the intros...anything after that and it gets too much.

    Are lessons expensive...lol?

i try, .but it doesn't sounds good to me
i sure there is a subtle nuance somewhere at this chord
  • sandozsandoz Posts: 166
    if by Bb5: X133XX
you mean XX331X ok and big thanx the nuance was here !!

but this chord is more a Bbsus2

    e
    X
    B
    X
    G
    3
    D
    3
    A
    1
    E
    X

That's Bb5. The only thing to keep in mind is to mute the strings you don't hit in whatever way is comfortable for you when playing a standard power chord.
