LED ZEPPELIN are to reunite for a second time to headline the 2008 Bonnaroo Arts and Music Festival in the U.S.
Organisers for the event, which will be held over three days in June (08) in Manchester, Tennessee, have confirmed the legendary rockers will top the bill, which currently includes Metallica, Pearl Jam and Kanye West.
The announcement comes after months of speculation that the Stairway To Heaven hitmakers were planning on playing more live dates after they reformed for a one-off concert in London in December (07).
Founding members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones teamed up with Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John, to take to the stage at the O2 Arena for a tribute concert in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.
And the gig has been followed up by rumours of more shows and a possible world tour. But the band insist a full tour will have to wait until at least September (08), after frontman Plant finishes his promotional commitments with Alison Krauss

Interesting..... I am convinced they are playing no matter how much Superfly try to quash the press, but now they are confirming it? If they are actually playing I was hoping they would wait until after tickets were on sale to announce it.......

is this reliable?? i need a REAL fuckin answer about zep being there! thats the deciding factor on whether or not i go... ive seen tons of sources saying they are and then tons of people on here saying theyre all fake... i just wanna know!!!

This is the only announcement that actually reads that Bonnaroo promoters are confirming it...... They did not say that last night.

This also shows there being three days, and there are four days. I could see lots of people mistaking the "Lez" for Led. Although, maybe it's just a smoke screen? That would rule. Was it Stone who last month mentioned them doing big things? I suppose that could involve a tour of the south. I wouldn't think that playing a single festival like last year (save for the Vic show) would constitute making a comment like that. Wouldn't it amazing if members of either band joined for the "Superjam"!?

An all-girl LED ZEPPELIN tribute band has caused mass confusion after it was mistakenly reported the legendary rockers would be reuniting for a second time to play a U.S. music festival.
Covers band Lez Zeppelin are scheduled to play at the three-day Bonnaroo Arts And Music Festival in Tennessee in June (08).
But organisers placed the unknown group's name prominently on their press release, leading many news organisations to erroneously announce Led Zeppelin's return on Wednesday (06Feb08).
Bonnaroo 2008 will be headlined by Metallica, Pearl Jam and Kanye West, and will feature a performance by Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant with Alison Krauss.
Original Led Zeppelin members Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones reunited for a one-off reunion show in London in December (07).
Last week (ends01Feb08), Page assured fans the band is hoping to embark on a full reunion tour, but that they'll have to wait until September (08) when Plant has finished promotional work for his recent duets album with Krauss.
Red-faced Bonnaroo bosses accept they may have gone too far when they prominently announced the news Lez Zeppelin would be performing.
A spokesman tells WENN, "We thought it would be a good idea. We've had to make a lot of calls to correct this. It seems a lot of people were caught out by the press announcement."
