Ok...guitar question.

I haven't been playing very long. I play a B.C. Rich Warlock, and I've been using a Peavy Rage 158 as my practice amp. Now that my boyfriend and I are doing a lot more musically (and might be doing shows), I want to upgrade to a 25 watt amp like his, but he says I need to get one that goes with the guitar so it will sound better (for example - he plays a Fender Strat on a Fender 25R amp).

What kind of amp do I get?

Um....I have no idea really. I have no idea where they even range....I guess I can afford like $100-300.

Ah... so not true. You can play any guitar through any amp. Some amps and guitars match better... but Hendrix played a Strat through a Marshall, nobody seemed to mind.

What kinda sound are you shooting for?

Dont know what your price range is but I just spent $1000 on a B-52 4x12 cabinet and 100w head. It's the closest thing to sex without the act that you can get. I love it.

I want kind of a heavy, grungy, slightly distorted sound. The Warlock kind of has a unique sound on its own, but I want the amp to go along with it.

I definitely can't afford that, not for a long time anyway :(

Ok the sound isn't working on this computer and I'll have to wait until my boyfriend gets home before I download realplayer on it, because it's his computer. Thanks for the links though.

yeah real audio, scroll to the bottom. The vox has them as does the Beringer.

You're probably looking for something Marshall-like. Not over the top, but lots of beef. Any modelling amp will have something along the lines of a Marshall...

I would suggest the Line 6, just because it'll have a little of everything. The Behringer and Vox modellers are the same, but I have a little more faith in Line 6's technology. Whatever you do, avoid the Fender Cyber amps... they won't do what you want.
