I run straight from my board (control room out) to my laptop, back to the board and the speakers...... seems to work fine, with minimal signal loss..... is running behringer vamp before the board however

yeah, but not anything flashy..... I was actually really surprised with how well my setup worked, because basically everything coming in and out of the laptop to the mixing board is thru the headphone (out) and mike (in) connections, which are just standard headphone plugs like on any discman etc..... was expecting to have to buy a decent external soundcard with a usb connection, but after some tweaking on the board and also the settings on Cubase, it actually sounds pretty good.

are you using any sort of DI box etc before the signal goes into the board??? I forgot that before I got the VAmp, I did have probs with signal loss.... going thru the VAmp and then into the board seems to have fixed this, must boost the signal enough for the rest of it's journey.... who knows???
