yeah, it's a vox.
and i was like the fuck
i think his is like a custom made one
ill look for the picture to show you all...........well i cant find one
its almost like a gibson es-3 or whatever those are called
its hollowbody
yah
thanks
no it's not custom. It's an old vox, I'm not sure of the model but I know it's a vox.
The only modern guitar I know of that shape is a very rare guitar by ZVex called the Drip.
If you're talking about the hollowbody it's a Gibson 335. I believe Jeff usually plays it live on Smile. I think it's actually Mikes guitar.
Ricks got an image posted in Mikes guitars over at http://www.giventowail.com check it out and see if that's it.
Anyways,
Vox made guitars in the 60s or so out of Italy. They were famous for having effects on board... however, they obviously weren't that successful as you don't see too many of them any more, and they are not in production. They exist though.

two examples of the 60s Vox stuff...
right brain cramp. Have you seen the Z vex drips? cool guitars. obviously they have some effects on board.

probe built into the pickguard. i think it's a wah probe. interesting idea certainly.
and a few danelectros have effects onboard as well.
It would be very cool to have some of their thermin (sp?) style effects...
so you could let a not ring and then with your hand ,manipulate an effect or two...
although to be honest, I have enough trouble with volume, tone, and pup selector switches when playing live... :<
There you go...
yeah they've been discontinued for a long time.
Those were kinda funky.
I'd rather use one of my guitars and my Pignose.
